Dr. Raul Del Rosario was born and raised in Angeles City, Philippines. He graduated from the University of the Philippines, College of Medicine where he also finished his one-year rotating internship and then completed a one-year Pediatric residency training at the Christ Hospital and Medical Center at Oaklawn, Illinois. He, then, moved to California where he finished his Pathology Residency at the University of California, Irvine. During that time, he served as a chief resident and functioned as a junior attending. He later did his fellowship in Dermatopathology at the Department of Dermatopathology, University of California, Irvine, where he was trained in both Dermatopathology and Clinical Dermatology. After his Dermpath fellowship, he was invited to join the faculty at the Department of Pathology in the same institution. He initially served as a clinical instructor and then as an assistant clinical professor supervising and teaching pathology residents, medical students and medical technology students.
In addition to clinical work, Dr. Del Rosario was also actively involved in research. He was the Director of the Immunofluorescence Laboratory, specializing in skin biopsy immunofluoresence and also served as a liaison with the Dermatopathology Department, correlating diagnostically difficult and challenging dermatopathologic lesions with immunohistochemical stains performed in the lab. Dr. Del Rosario is now active in private practice at Laguna Pathology Medical Group, but continues to be a volunteer faculty member at the University of California, Irvine where he gives medical student lectures and lab sessions on a regular basis. Dr. Del Rosario is board certified in Dermatopathology, Anatomical and Clinical Pathology.
